For the first time, Missy smiles. "That's disgusting." She picks up a ping-pong ball from a beer pong table the parents forgot to hide. "Wanna see me bounce this off the ceiling fan?"
"You know," Missy says, "at the party, no one asked me one question about science."
Georgie, suddenly the elder statesman of social failure, leans against the tool bench. "You don't spin the bottle. You just stand near the corner and hope no one notices you. That's my strategy."
