Just before the competition, a mysterious giant rabbit—dubbed the "Were-Rabbit"—begins ravaging the town’s vegetable patches. As the creature grows larger and more elusive, Wallace experiments with his latest invention, the "Mind Manipulation-O-Matic," trying to brainwash rabbits to dislike vegetables. The experiment goes wrong, and it is revealed that Wallace himself transforms into the Were-Rabbit every night due to a vegetable-induced mutation.
