In this story, the T11 Board is a cryptic control panel found only in decommissioned observatories, deep beneath old universities, or inside the walls of forgotten subway stations. It has 11 touch-sensitive tiles, each etched with a symbol: a key, a mirror, a wave, a chain, an eye, a feather, a flame, a stone, a clock, a hand, and a door. Behind the first, she heard her own voice

She finally understood: the T11 Board was a memory loom , weaving together the emotional residue of everyone who’d ever lived in the building. Each tile was a different “frequency” of human experience—loss (stone), hope (feather), love (chain), fear (hand).
