It had arrived the night before, buried in the chest of a dying Kryptonian scout drone. The drone’s last words weren’t a warning. They were a name. “Kal-El…” the figure rasped

Through the kitchen window, the sky turned amber, then a sickly green. A crack split the horizon, and out of it fell a single figure: not a monster, but a man in a tattered Superman suit, his skin chalk-white, his eyes hollow red.

The figure smiled—a broken, upside-down smile. “I’m you. The one who didn’t have a Lois. The one who lost everything. And I’m not the villain, Lois. I’m the result .”
