Well, we made it. The final episode of Sausage Party: Foodtopia has arrived, and if you thought the movie’s grocery-store orgy was unhinged, Episode 8 takes the concept of “food afterlife” and deep-fries it in existential dread, cheap beer, and one very uncomfortable hot dog bun.
A three-minute sequence involving a sentient juice box and a “bladder explosion” that overstays its welcome. You’ve been warned.
The voice cast remains committed. Seth Rogen’s Frank gets surprisingly philosophical, and Kristen Wiig’s Brenda finally gets a moment of genuine badassery. Sam Richardson steals the show as a cynical taco who’s seen too many potlucks. Yes and no. As a conclusion to Foodtopia ’s main arc (building a food society, dealing with human hunters, internal politics), Episode 8 feels rushed.
