The villains returned—but they remembered. The Joker winked at the camera. Harley Quinn left flowers on a broken gargoyle. And Leo finally got to play the Arkham Asylum level, because the game realized something important:
“Terry finished me,” Batman said. “He put every villain back in LEGO pieces. He earned the Platinum. He retired . Do you know what happens to a 100% completed game, Leo?”
Leo booted up the game. His old save was gone. In its place was a new file: lego batman 100 save file
Leo shook his head.
“Help me break the game,” Batman said. “Not by winning. But by losing.” The villains returned—but they remembered
Leo spun his character. Batman was standing behind him—but not the blocky, cute LEGO Batman. This Batman had shadows under his cape. His yellow belt flickered like a weak flame.
Then, a voice. Low, brick-grinding, familiar. And Leo finally got to play the Arkham
Leo was ten years old and had a problem. His copy of LEGO Batman: The Videogame for the Wii was ancient. The disc was so scratched it looked like a raccoon had used it as a skateboard. Every time he tried to play, the game would freeze right on the loading screen for the "Arkham Asylum" level.
