In a coastal town where the black sand beach met the rumbling foothills of an ancient mountain, two children were born on the same night during a strange eclipse. They were named after the forces that shaped their souls: (Shark Boy) and Volkan Kız (Volcano Girl). The Boy of the Deep Shark Boy could not walk properly until he was five, but he could swim like a torpedo. His skin was rough like sandpaper, and when he smiled, his teeth were triangular and sharp.
