Icons On Desktop: Change

Find the original app in the Start Menu or File Explorer.

Go to the Shortcut tab (for program shortcuts) or the Customize tab (for folders). change icons on desktop

In the new window, select the icon you want to change (e.g., Recycle Bin (full) ). Find the original app in the Start Menu or File Explorer

Go to Desktop Icon Settings (see Part 3) → Click Restore Default → OK . change icons on desktop

On the new desktop shortcut, follow Part 1 above to change its icon. Part 3: Change System Icons (This PC, Recycle Bin, Network) This method changes the main icons Windows places on your desktop by default. For Windows 11: Step 1: Right-click an empty area of your desktop and select Personalization .
