The Arch Unblocked
Kaelen turned the wheel.

Just a garden. Wild, overgrown, beautiful. Vines heavy with golden fruit. A path of white gravel leading to a second arch, smaller, nested within the first. And at its foot, a woman in simple gray robes, holding a lantern with a steady flame.
"You unblocked it," she said, not surprised. "We wondered who would." The Arch Unblocked Kaelen turned the wheel
The iron wall didn't shatter. It folded —neatly, quietly, like a curtain parting. Dust rose. Sunlight poured through the Arch for the first time in a century.

A century ago, the Seers had declared it a gateway to chaos. So the Kings of old built the Barrier: a seamless wall of black iron that sealed the Arch's passage, reinforced with wards and watched by the Wardens of the Still Path. No one went through. No one came from the other side. The Arch became a monument to obedience.
