Jacob overhears two students speaking Spanish and tries to join their conversation — but they’re actually speaking Portuguese, and he accidentally tells them their backpacks are “delicious.” The kids run away. He spends the rest of the episode trying to earn their trust back by bringing in Brazilian snacks, but they’re all expired. Janine insists it’s working
Janine insists it’s working. She starts micromanaging the CD player, skipping tracks, rewinding, and pausing at strategic moments. The kids become more confused but also weirdly engaged — they start shouting track numbers like they’re calling out bingo. (“Track 7! Play Track 7, Miss Teagues!”) Janine thinks she’s unlocked genius-level pedagogy.
